Sa, 08.01.2005    21-23 Uhr	BTTB - Back To The Basics Wir starten das neue Jahr mit einer sehr ambientösen Sendung. Zunächst hört ihr Musik aus einem Sampler, den ich schon seit Monaten spielen möchte, leider aber nicht dazu gekommen bin. Er ist erschienen auf dem Label em:t, heißt em:t0003 und enthält 10 sehr schöne und ruhige Songs. Inzwischen ist auch schon em:t0004 erschienen, die gefällt mir aber nicht ganz so gut. Weiter geht es mit einer Mini-CD, die nur in England erschienen ist: Die Battersea Shield EP von The Orb vs. Meat Beat Manifesto. Sie enthält zwei Live-Aufnahmen aus dem Jahr 2001 und eine neue Produktion. Wir hören einen 18-minütigen Ausschnitt aus der Live-Aufnahme. Die erste Stunde endet mit einer obskuren Bootleg-CD aus dem Jahr 1997, auf der man zwei Tracks von The KLF findet: Einen 42-minütigen Soundtrack aus einem Film und ein 30-minütiges Stück, über dessen Herkunft man auf den verschiedenen KLF-Seiten im Web nichts finden kann. Wir hören dieses 30-minütige Stück. 	BTTB-X-Series: Aldo Vanucci In der zweiten Stunde hört ihr einen Mix vom neuesten Signing auf Catskills:Projects, dem neuen Sublabel von Catskills aus Brighton: Aldo Vanucci. Aldo erblickte in Brighton das Licht der Welt, wuchs in London auf und lebt nun in Plymouth. Seine erste Maxi auf Catskills war ein Remake des Songs "When I See You Smile", der noch aus den 80er Jahren bekannt sein dürfte. Für BTTB hat er einen zweiteiligen Mix aufgenommen, dessen ersten Teil ihr heute hören könnt (der zweite folgt in der Sendung am Di, 18.1. ab 22 Uhr). Diesen Teil hat er moderiert und er stellt darin unter anderem eine sehr schöne Coverversion von "Young Hearts Run Free" vor. Di, 18.01.2005    22-00 Uhr	BTTB - Back To The Basics Computerspiele werden immer realistischer und nähern sich immer mehr interaktiven Kinofilmen. Klar dass diese Fortschritte verbunden mit den wachsenden Einnahmen auch vor der Musik nicht Halt machen. Reichten früher minimale Pieptöne zur Pixelgrafik, die von Musikern gerne gesamplet wurden, so werden heutzutage Musiker ähnlich wie beim Kino für den Soundtrack engagiert und können einerseits viel Geld damit verdienen, geben andererseits aber auch ihren Namen her, mit dem für das Spiel geworben wird. Besonders gefragt sind Musiker aus der experimentellen, elektronischen Musik. So erscheint in Kürze ein Soundtrack für das Spiel Splinter Cell Chaos Theory, der komplett von Amon Tobin geschrieben wurde. Ein Stück daraus hören wir heute. Do, 27.01.2005    02-03 Uhr	BTTB - Back To The Basics 2002 brachte Sony ein Computerspiel mit dem Namen The Getaway raus. Es wurde in London programmiert und enthielt unter anderem ein realistisches Abbild des 40km² grossen Umkreises der Entwickler, d.h. eines Teils der Londoner Stadtmitte. Nun erscheint ein zweiter Teil: "The Getaway: Black Monday" und um diesen Teil zu feiern udn vor allem bekannt zu machen, erscheinen auf Ninja Tune drei Maxis mit Remixes basierend auf dem Soundtrack des Spiels. Wir hören heute zwei dieser Remixes - einer kommt von Amon Tobin und einer von Blockhead. Und es gibt noch mehr auf Ninja Tune: Roots Manuva hat ein neues Album für das Sublabel Big Dada fertig gestellt und das Rainstick Orchestra aus Tokyo hat schon im vergangenen Jahr eine LP vorgelegt. Sa, 29.01.2005    20-23 Uhr	BTTB-Documentation: 12 Jahre BTTB: 1995-1996 Heute mal wieder drei Stunden um die wichtigsten Platten des Jahres zwischen September 1995 und September 1996 vorzustellen. In diesem Jahr gab es neben den normalen Sendungen auch die erste X-Session, die anläßlich der 50. Sendung zustande kam. Und es gab mehrere Features über Coldcut, Kraftwerk, Goldie, The Roots und Massive Attack. Anhand der Künstler die ihre "first appearance" in diesem Zeitraum bei BTTB hatten, kann man auch viel sehen: Im TripHop waren das u.a. Attica Blues, Aim, Ingrid Schroeder, Rob Dougan, Funky Fresh Few, DJ Wally, Morcheeba, Ruby, Lamb, Leftfield, David Holmes, Automator, The Thievery Corporation, Baby Fox und Air. Im HipHop stand ich neben dem Einfluß aus der BBBC auch im Einfluß von Tim Westwood, was man an den folgenden Namen deutlich sieht: KRS-One, Junior M.A.F.I.A., Das EFX, Blahzey Blahzey, Group Home, Capleton, Dr. Frankenstein und Dr. Octagon (letztere liefen aber kaum bei Westwood sondern vor allem in der BBBC). Auch House kam vor - ihren ersten Einsatz bei BTTB hatten Josh Wink, DJ Sneak, Daft Punk und Armand van Helden und im Drum-n-Bass war besonders viel los - hier vor allem mit DJ Crystl, DJ Zinc, Source Direct, Peshay, Doc Scott, Photek und Tribe Of Issachar. Das sind natürlich nur die Namen der Künstler, die zum ersten Mal bei BTTB auftauchten, viele andere waren schon länger dabei und beeinflußten das Programm weiter. Lasst euch einfach überraschen. 	BTTB-X-Series: Strictly Kev 'Everything Has To End...' On January 18th 2004, Strictly Kev premiered the original 'Raiding The 20th Century' on XFM's 'The Remix' show in London. It was a 40 minute attempt to catalogue the history of cut up music - be it avant garde tape manipulation, turntable megamixes or bastard pop mash ups. It rapidly spread throughout the web and managed to cause a full scale server crash on boomselection.info when they hosted it due to the volume of net traffic. Shortly afterwards he read Paul Morley's recently published book 'Words bamp; Music' and was amazed that certain chapters mirrored parts of his mix. Apart from the fact that the title, 'Raiding the 20th Century' was coined by Morley 20 years before for a future Art of Noise project, he also featured Alvin Lucier who - purely by chance - was sampled on the opening track of the mix. Kev decided to expand his idea to make the defnitive document on cut up music including many other parts, omitted by the constraints of the original radio session. After months of further research he tracked Morley down and they recorded passages from 'Words & Music' specially for this mix in an attempt to marry the two and finish something that neither of them actually started. A year to the day of the original airing, the newly expanded version is ready.
